Tradition and experience are the mainstays of our product innovations. This foundation continuously generates the highest technological accomplishment. For example, together with the Japanese Science and Technology Corporation we developed already in 1998 a super-high-energy transmission electron microscope with an accelerating voltage of three million Volt, offering hithero unimagined possibilities in the sub-atomic range. And of course our commercial models also profit from this unique expertise and skill.
So is Hitachi the only supplier of high-end systems who can offer an alternative electron source besides the Schottky emitter- we alone have the technology to produce stable transmission systems with W cold field emitters, offering high-intensity electron beams with minimum energy spread without need for operation-complicating and current-limiting monochromators.
The combination of cold field emission with Cs correction makes e.g. the HD-2700 a unique, easy-to-operate, very powerful analytical scanning transmission microscope.
